FAQ
Where does the trade data come from?
The app uses publicly filed STOCK Act periodic transaction reports (PTRs) from the U.S. House Clerk and the U.S. Senate Office of Public Records.
Congress Trade Alerts only uses publicly available disclosures and does not have insider information.
How fast are alerts?
Alerts are usually sent within hours of a filing becoming public, depending on when the House or Senate publishes the disclosure.
If a source is temporarily delayed or unavailable, alerts may arrive later until the feed is reachable again.
How do I unsubscribe from email alerts?
Use the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or email [email protected].
Unsubscribing permanently removes your email record from our database.
How do I turn off push notifications?
You can disable push notifications in the app settings or through your iPhone or Android system settings.
Turning notifications off removes your push token from our server.
Why don't I see a specific legislator?
Congress Trade Alerts covers all House and Senate members with publicly filed STOCK Act disclosures.
If someone appears to be missing, email [email protected] with the legislator's name and chamber and we'll check the source data.
Can I use the data programmatically?
Yes. Congress Trade Alerts provides a free, unauthenticated, read-only MCP API at:

The API returns the same public disclosure data used in the app.
Is my data private?
Yes. Congress Trade Alerts only collects anonymous usage signals and does not use third-party trackers.
